Submissions are either done by hand at each individual Search Engine, or there is a ton of software out there for doing across the board submissions. Search Engine BOTS or spidering software are written, tweaked and controlled by humans... as these humans learn about different methods of submissions, they decide if this is a good or bad practice and tweak the BOTS accordingly (usually without informing anyone in the public sector). The BOTS become smarter almost every day... this means a practice, or submission system that worked yesterday may be offensive to the search engines tomorrow and most software leaves some sort of signature. Submissions, unless by hand, are becoming a little risky. On the other hand "Up-Dating" indexed pages when your content changes is a very good thing... whereas slamming the search engines on a regular basis with an changed URL is like one of your own clients screaming; "Me, Me, Me" every single day, some search engines don't like it!

Search Engine "Optimization"

This is an important and very necessary part of Internet Marketing! No matter how you get indexed in any search engine, you must optimize it first or you will never rank well against those who do optimize their web sites... (FYI... there are 60 plus rules to follow with every page of your site to optimize it).

Search Engine "Locate"

This is our preferred form of "Submissions" for over 3 years now. The difference between hand or software submissions directly to the search engines and the "Locate" system is the first is now considered "Forcing" and the new system "Allows" the search engines to find you. The second system called "Locate" sometimes takes just a little longer to rank well, but the overall effect is that it works without forcing anything. The concept is very simple and each Internet Marketing company has to develop a method that works for them so their clients can be found, or build a relationship with a company that already has a working system in place.

Again... you have to make your own decisions as to which method is best for your individual Florida Business.

~ Craig

<!--

There are two options to deal with after accepting "change" as a reality. The first is to find someone, or a company to stay on top of these changes for your business... or hit the books, newsletters, web sites & programming manuals and do hours and hours of studying. Studying not only current affairs and present changes, but learn the history of your specified topic so any great new ideas you come up with can be verified as a new idea and not something that has already been attempted. Knowing the history will allow you insite as to whether or not to spend time with this based on developing a new twist to an old system, or wasting time on duplicated efforts.

Just one year of studying the major search engines and their quirks will put you light years ahead of over 90 % of Florida business owners (your competition). And three or four years will put you at the head of the class... I say "Class" because any Internet Marketing company or individual MUST be in class every single day. If someone says; "I, or we know how to do it all", run very fast... If they say; "I, or we do our best to stay on top of changes and apply what we learn"... you have just found yourself a great and honest Internet Marketing person or company. Then plan on a long term relationship to stay ahead of the future changes as they are coming... you can take that to the bank!

~ Craig

<!--
